For decades, amfAR had operated as two organizations in one. We built a unified visual identity that brought both sides together without flattening either.

amfAR has spent more than 30 years pursuing a cure for HIV/AIDS, operating across two distinct worlds: rigorous scientific research and high-profile fundraising galas. The two halves rarely felt like the same organization. That disconnect was limiting both.
We were asked to unite them under a single visual identity. The solution was a bold typographic system and strong color palette that elevated research to the level of luxury, and grounded the galas in the seriousness of the science. The energy of amfAR's most glamorous events could now flow into its research communications. The credibility of the science could reinforce every gala. Neither side had to compromise. Both were stronger for the connection.
The result was an identity that speaks to donors, policymakers, scientists, and global audiences in a single voice, giving amfAR the cohesion to communicate its full mission and make more of every dollar it raises.
